Chelsea has a Masters in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University with an undergraduate in Cultural Anthropology from Florida Atlantic University. With experience in the field of counseling for over 25 years, Chelsea has passionately served people in recovery from substance abuse, child abuse, anxiety, depression, OCD, complex trauma, delinquent behavior, and marital conflicts.

How do I know if it is time to see a therapist?
Most likely if you are reading this page, there is a desire for change in your life. Ask yourself these questions: Is there a persistent problem, a way of feeling or consequence in my life that isn’t changing? Are you tired of the same issues coming up and they never seem to get resolved? Are you feeling overwhelmed with worry, anxiety, depression or anger? What are the benefits of seeing a therapist?
A therapist is trained in psychology which is the study of mind and behavior. A therapist uses an unbiased approach to evaluate, diagnosis, and equip clients in understanding, healing, and growth. Clients specifically gain effective communication, ability to resolve conflict, positive thinking, healing wounds, ability to overcome negative thoughts, healthier relationships, and more.
How long is a session?
Typically a session is an hour. The first session may go over a little due to gathering a history of the client.
How long should I invest in therapy?
Depending on the issues and the process of healing determines the length of therapy. However, here at AnchoredHeart our goal is to equip you with skills so as not to depend upon the therapist for the long term. Ideally, depending on the trials and challenges in one’s life, one comes in weekly, then biweekly, then as needed. However, this is always the client’s discretion.
